San Francisco City has the second highest standard of living in United States. As such, most people would not expect to find good deals when shopping. Instead, we were pleasantly surprised to find that the prices were extremely affordable and the quality was actually very good. I would say without a shadow of a doubt that San Francisco was where we had our best shopping experience in the USA.
We have been to Premium Outlets all over the states but there are a few things special about Shopping in San Francisco City.
1. North Face Outlet (Sample Sale Included)
This outlet was introduced to us by our friend. When we arrived, it was clear we were not the only ones who knew about it. The store was filled with tourists and locals alike. This store is a rather unique one. It was a sample store which North Face used to test the market. They sell their goods at a lower price as compared to shopping mall outlets and the main retail stores. Hence, the prices were very cheap and yet of similar quality to other outlets.
My sister bought a unique jacket that could be separated into two different jackets or attached to each other to form a thick jacket and it only costs USD60! Her winter boots that was so comfortable and slick cost only USD55! We also bought North Face Shoes for our Mother which only costs only USD 55. These are insane prices. I am sure we will not be able to find it anywhere else.
We were at several other premium outlet stores and could not find a single shoe that costs around USD37.
However, I’m pretty sure that there are more stores like that around States but this is the first time we have seen it so it was pretty interesting for us!
Tuesday to Saturday 10:00-19:00
An advice for all shoppers, the first time we were there, it was a weekend and hence it was packed with people. Everyone picked an outfit, looked at it and chucked it aside if they were not fond of it. As such, the clothes were in a mess and it was tough to find goods and we didn’t buy anything on the first day of shopping. We decided to go a second time and this time on a weekday. This time around there was a limited crowd and much more order in the outlet. It was easier to find the clothes or apparels we were looking for and hence we bought a ton of things on our second trip.
2. San Francisco Premium Outlet has higher end brands that can’t be found in other Premium Outlets.
It boasts the likes of Prada and Gucci alongside outlets such as Michael Kors, Kate Spade, Tory Burch that are common in Premium Outlets across the country. This is the first time we have seen these brands in a US premium outlet! Kate Spade even had a 60% sale with an additional 20% off on the day that we were there! Just look at the queue
Monday to Friday 10:00-21:00
3. Real Boba Tea
Bubble tea has always been my favourite drink. Hence, since we left Singapore for the States, we have been craving for good bubble tea. However, in other outlets we were always disappointed by the quality of the bubble tea. In some places, the ‘bubble tea’ was merely made up of juice, water and bobas. While in some other places, the tea was extremely bland and tasted stale. Hence, we were extremely glad to finally taste authentic Taiwanese Bubble Tea. The tea was freshly brewed and piping hot. Additionally, the bobas were really soft and chewy. It was without doubt one of the best bubble teas we tasted in the US. It is located near Hollister and American Eagles in San Francisco Premium Outlet and it is called I-tea Livermore.
Do give it a try when you are there the next time! We were too excited about it that we forgot to take photo! hehe!
4. Hollister and American Eagles in San Francisco Premium Outlet has the best deals.
While we have been to many outlet stores across the states and seen many great deals, the deals in this outlet really blew our mind. Additionally, there was a wide range of apparels thanks to the size of the store. It was probably the biggest Hollister and American Eagle shop we had seen during our trip. My sister bought a jacket for $14 and a shirt for just $4! The deals were just amazing!
5. Departmental Store has the best deals!
I have been to Macy’s, TJMAX, Ross and Bloomingdale’s but none of them come close to Marshalls. We were in the store for barely 5 minutes and a pair of heels had already caught my eye and I had no doubt that i wanted to purchase it. It was extremely comfortable and well-fitting with a classy look and was surprisingly affordable.I was so glad that i was finally able to find the perfect pair of heels!
Bloomingdale’s, located in Premium Outlets, was more expensive. My sister really liked a pair of shoes from Stuart Weitzman that she found in the San Francisco Premium Outlet that was being sold for only $150, that is 1/8 of the price sold in retail stores! She didn’t buy it in the end as she felt it was rather expensive considering she doesn’t wear heels on a regular basis! (However, this is a great deal if you are a person who loves wearing heels.)
I found a bag that I really love at half the original price. The best thing was that the bag was from Marc Jacobs. Till today it is still one of my favourite bags and i have not regretted the decision to buy it!
Marshalls, on the other hand, offers mid to high-end priced shoes. I found a pair of Nine West heels for just $29, it was extremely comfortable and not expensive at all!
I’m sure you guys would be able to find something you like in this store.
